The Team

Rudolf Suter was appointed President and Chairman of PFO Global in May, 2011 prior to that, he held senior management positions at several optical companies. From 1986 through June 1990 he served as General Manager of Loh Switzerland followed by positions as principal and President of Satis Vacuum, which he grew to become the worldwide market leader for AR coating equipment with more than a 60% market share. In1998, he sold the company and chose to focus on several startup companies within the optical industry. Optixx AG of Switzerland was founded in 2002 and, in a short period of time, became an important player in the field of Free Form PAL lenses. As an entrepreneur he has extensive experience and success in emerging technologies. Mr. Suter has served the industry as a founder and member of the board of directors at the European Sunglass Association until 2007, a member of EUROM (European Optical Manufacturer Association) until 2001 and the Vision Council.

Alan Yuster, Executive VP Business Development co-founded PFO Global as a “value priced” virtual lab for free – form lenses offering a wide array of free- form lenses and a unique proprietary online ordering system. He has more than 25 years experience in optical management, operations, sales and marketing. Yuster was previously with Optische Werke G.Rodenstock Germany for three years as Director of International Sales-Americas and for 10 years as Vice President of Rodenstock USA. Mr.Yuster was instrumental in launching the first plastic aspheric Cosmolit® lenses and the first aspheric/atoric progressive lens, Multigressiv from Rodenstock North America. Mr. Yuster served eight years as national sales manager for Younger Optics Manufacturing. He was also a consultant to a number of manufacturers and retail optical stores and has lectured and written numerous articles for optical publications.

Brigitte Bazelais, CFO is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting aspects, as well as helping to manage the Human Resource function. Prior to joining PFO, she was the Accounting Manager for SourceCorp TBG, LP, a specialized tax accounting firm, in the areas of LIFO,Cost Segregation, Energy tax savings, Research and Development, and Section 263A. She served as Controller at Gateway Global, LLC, American Tire Distributors and Ginsa LLC. Brigitte’s experience also includes work in the governmental sector as a Director of Internal Audit. Brigitte has a Bachelor in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University where she received the Dean’s Award, has successfully passed the CPA Exam, and has a Master of business Administration from the University of Miami.

Steve Brewer Executive VP, National Accounts / Vision Insurance Programs brings 35 years of optical industry experience as a senior level executive and industry consultant. Companies and clients that Steve has worked with include Bausch & Lomb, Cooper Vision, Alcon, Essilor of America and United Healthcare. Mr. Brewer has a strong grasp of the both the challenges and opportunities that the industry faces. “The expectations of vision consumers are changing. The optical industry has the opportunity to beat the fore front in helping redefine patient’s expectations on the value of vision as part of a healthy lifestyle. However, if we do not act decisively, other forces in corporate healthcare will move quickly to drive their own agendas. New technology like Free-Form lenses offer a wonderful platform for innovation that doctors should embrace. Pro Fit is ideally positioned to bring this new technology to the market through a ‘targeted value’ development strategy.”As a former National Association of Vision Care Plans (NAVCP) board member, Mr. Brewer is also very excited to be working with the vision benefits industry in developing Free-Form technology as a standard in covered eyewear. “Pro Fit brings a cost / value strategy that makes this new technology a viable option for patients, while meeting the business needs of both the providers and the plans”

Jonathan Schwartz, VP Manufacturing is an optical industry professional who brings to Pro Fit over 30 years of experience with proven technical and managerial expertise running optical laboratories and distribution centers. Most recently having served as Director for Ultimate Optical Laboratory in Fort Lauderdale,Florida, Mr. Schwartz has also held executive positions for Hoya Vision Care, National Vision, Consolidated Vision Group, Texas State Optical and Sterling Optical. He is a licensed optician with an AAS in Ophthalmic Dispensing as well as a BS in Professional Management, serving 10 years as a Director for the Optical Laboratories Association and on the ANSI Z-87 standards committee.

Jagdish Jethmalani, Executive VP, Research & Development, has 15 years experience in medical device industry specifically in ophthalmic industry and is responsible for Research & Development activities at PFO. Prior to joining PFO, he was VP of Research & Development at Ophthonix, Inc., where he managed all new product development activities and launched several product offerings to expand the iZon brand prescription lenses. Prior to that, he was a Founding Scientist at Calhoun Vision, Inc., where he developed novel biocompatible material for a light adjustable intraocular lens that is capable of non-invasive light induced refractive power modification. Prior to that, he was a Staff Scientist at California Institute of Technology (CalTech), where he demonstrated feasibility of light induced refractive index adjustability in a novel biocompatible material. Jagdish holds a Ph.D. in Organic/Polymer Chemistry from Oklahoma State University, an M.S. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from University of Bombay, India, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Bombay, India. He also holds numerous patents and papers that are published in Peer Reviewed Books and Professional Journals.
